The Powkiddy X55 is fairly underrated if you look at the price. In my opinion it has the best ergonomics and screen for it’s price point. With JelOS it becomes a really great system with the ability to play some PSP games and all your other retro games. Below is a quick companion to my video:
- Integer scaling works very well on this screen, try it out on some systems
- When you set filters remember to go to QUICK MENU > OVERRIDES > SAVE CONTENT DIRECTORY OVERRIDES
- Jelos installation –
- Get a 16GB card and a second 64 or 128GB card, and download Balena Etcher and 7zip
- download Jelos https://github.com/JustEnoughLinuxOS/distribution/releases
- Download the compiled version for the X55
- Unzip the image file and burn the image file to your 16GB card using Balena Etcher
- Now insert the 16GB card to your device and start it up
- In the main menu press select and shut down the system
- Now insert the second larger SD card into TF2 and restart the device and shut it down again
- You can now add your roms to the relevant folders
- Also remember to add your BIOS files to the BIOS folder
- Check this table for compatible roms and BIOS files: https://github.com/JustEnoughLinuxOS/distribution/wiki/JELOS-emulators-and-game-engines
- Once that’s all set up we can move onto the fun stuff…
